On June 12, a series of tornadoes swept through parts of Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, causing significant destruction and displacement. Emergency crews worked tirelessly to rescue individuals, including a remarkable effort in Streator, Illinois, where a man was saved from the rubble of his home. Though there were no fatalities reported, communities are now facing substantial material losses and interrupted lives as power outages and canceled flights continue to affect recovery efforts. Psalm 46:1 reminds us, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” In times like these, we lean on His strength and shelter.
Father, we come before You today, lifting up the communities struck by these powerful tornadoes. The whirlwind of destruction has left many feeling lost and afraid. We pray for comfort to wash over those grieving their losses. Grant wisdom to community leaders so they can act swiftly and make sound decisions for recovery. Fill hearts with hope, reminding us all that we can rebuild and move forward together. For those physically and emotionally wounded, give them strength to stand again. Help us to unite, supporting one another through this tough time. May we feel Your presence and guidance every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, amen.
